Lukewarm take: If everything you do with your computer nowadays is inside your browser, you can use Linux. Playing games is another story, but if you are just an average Joe and all you do is just using web apps on browser, just use Linux. If you still can't leave Windows, try it on a secondary device if you have one. There is always a possibility for newcomers to migrate, ask a trusted friend for help, just ignore those toxic people if you come across online, they aren't worth your time.
